Obituary for Marieta Irene Church
Marieta Irene Church, age 80, of Kansas City, KS, passed away in her home on Oct. 17, 2023. The family has decided that there will not be any public services, rather the family will spend time together privately.
Marieta was born on February 5th, 1943, in Oskaloosa Kansas, and was the youngest of four children born to Lloyd and Irene Angel. Marieta was married to Walter S. Church, III for 63 years and they shared 3 children. She dedicated her entire life to loving her family. Her patience and kindness was felt by everyone who came in contact with her. Her greatest joy was her grandkids, great-grandkids, and great-great-grandkids. She was so very proud of them and loved them all so deeply. Marieta also had a love of flowers, working in her flower beds and watching her flowers grow made her so happy. She enjoyed taking pictures so that she could show the family.
We have never experienced a loss as great as this one, she was the pillar and strength of our family. Marieta was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Ray, and her sister Shirley.
Survivors include her husband Walter of the home, Her children: Walter IV, Cathy and husband Bill, Suzanne and husband Aron. Grandchildren: Walter V and Courtney, Travis, Amanda, Samantha and Richard, Kaitlin and Austin, Chandler, Michael, Harley and Breanna, Shyanne and Taylor, and Liz. Great-grandchildren: Jocelyn, Lilly, Braden, Lukas, Evelyn, Hudson, Hayes, James, Sierra and Tyler, Faith, Chelsey, Monroe, Auna, Riley, Alex and Eli. Great-great grandchildren, Josiah, Hunter, and Weston. One sister, Lona and her niece, Marcella.
