Marian F. Beckman, age 97, of Lenexa, Kansas passed away on November 27, 2022 at the Overland Park Regional Medical Center. Marian was born on August 3, 1925 in Montgomery County, Iowa and grew up on her family’s farm and always loved trees and wildflowers. She worked for many years at a Singer Sewing Machine Store in Creston, IA and was an accomplished seamstress. She eventually opened up her own fabric store in Lamoni, IA where she also taught others to sew. In her spare time, she enjoyed designing and making quilts, as well as reading mysteries and Christian books.
She was preceded in death by her husband Philip Beckmann, her sisters: Doris Achenbach and Alice Gard, her parents Marion & Frances Gard. Survivors include her daughter LoAnne Garrett, son Randall Groff and daughter Debra Blair, as well as six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. No services are planned at this time.
