Obituary for Luella Mae Cooper

Luella M. Cooper, age 92, of Kansas City, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, November 10th, 2021 at her home surrounded by her children and grandchildren. She battled some serious health issues but they never stopped her from pouring out her endless love to her family. We prayed her into Heaven with shouts of love as God took her into his arms. Visitation will be at 10:00am on Monday, November 15, 2021 with the funeral service immediately following at 11:00am both at the Judson Baptist Church, 8300 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS. 66112. Burial to follow at the Grinter Cemetery.
Luella was born in Ames, Iowa. She was married to her husband, Raymond, in Kansas City, Missouri and celebrated 48 years together. She was raised on various farms in the Warsaw, Cole Camp and Sedalia area. Her great grandpa and grandma were raided by Bushwhackers. She worked at Lamy’s in Sedalia before she married Raymond. In her early years of raising our family, she often made our clothes. She had a strong faith in God and we were so fortunate that he let us have her for 92 years. During those years, she was our best friend, showering us with love and kindness. We’ve lost the world’s greatest Mom & Grandma. Mostly, we all have a hole in our hearts from losing our best friend. It was so difficult to let her go but we know that she is resting now in God’s arms. There will be no replacing her as she was one in a million.
Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, son, Eddie Ray Cooper, daughter, Alice Cooper-Alvarado, and grandson, James Lutjen. She is survived by her children, Lynn Lutjen (Joyce), Doretta Davis, Lynda Cooper (Harvey), Brenda Wing (Brent). Grandchildren: Jeanne Lutjen, Jeron Wing (Ariel), Kristyn Martley (David), Derek Peterman (Erin), Dusty Morey (Stephanie). Great Grandchildren: Jenna & Veda Morey, and Everleigh Wing.
