Obituary for Loyd D. Holt
Loyd D. Holt, age 90, passed away on April 13, 2019. Visitation will be 10-11am with the Funeral at 11am, both Friday, April 19 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
Loyd was born on Aug. 1, 1928 in Iuka, Mississippi. He grew up in Mississippi before serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was awarded Four Bronze Stars. After his Honorable Discharge from the U.S. Army he moved to the Kansas City area. Loyd had owned & operated his own Floor Covering Company for many years. Throughout his life, Loyd enjoyed Hunting and Fishing with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents David & Clara Holt, nine siblings, his wife Jene Holt, a grandson Colby Folsom, and companion Linda Riley. Survivors include his two daughters: Cendy Owen and Bobbie Webber, nine grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
