Obituary for Lorena "Faye" Keefer
Lorena “Faye” Keefer, age 92, of Bonner Springs, KS, passed away Dec 26th, 2019 at her home while being surrounded by her family.
Private services are planned with interment at the Bonner Springs Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice who helped care for her during her final days.
Faye was born on October 11, 1927 in Sayre, Oklahoma, the only child of John & Golda (Short) Elliott.
She married Donald “Don” E. Keefer August 9, 1976 in Miami, OK and together they made their home in Bonner Springs, KS.
Faye had worked for some time at the Hercules Army Ammunition Plant and other places, but mostly she loved being a homemaker, raising her children and being outside tending to her garden and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her grandson Jeffrey Alan Lee in 1998 and her husband Don Keefer in 2010.
Survivors include; son Robert Powell and wife Tami of Merriam, KS. stepson Michael Keefer and wife Barbara of Olathe, KS. Four daughters; Beth Davis and husband Larie of Shawnee, KS, Jeanine Postoak and husband Dale of Okemah, OK, Susan Lee and Carl Hund of Shawnee, KS, Jonna Beckmann and husband Barry of Rantoul, KS, 11 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great grandchildren.
