Lois L. Marriott

Lois Lucille Gintz/Cochran/Gaugush/Marriott, age 84, of Kansas City, Missouri and previously of Basehor, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Jan. 18th, 2022 after a brief and courageous battle with Cancer. She will be laid to rest in the Mt. Sidney Cemetery in Linwood, KS. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on what would have been her 85th Birthday, Sunday, March 13th, 2022 at the Northland Baptist Church at 7101 NW Waukomis Drive Kansas City, MO from 1:30pm -4pm, lunch provided after the service. All friends and family are welcome.


In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

Lois was born on March 13th, 1937 in Marshfield, Missouri and was the youngest of four children born to Chris & Mary (Meyer) Gintz. She grew up in Marshfield and graduated from Marshfield High School in the Class of 1955. Lois went on to obtain her degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at various Hospitals and Clinics in Oklahoma and the Kansas City area. She married David Cochran on Jan. 2, 1960 and together they made their home in Basehor where they raised their three children. Later in life Lois married Roland Gaugush and he preceded her in death in 1990. She then married Russell Marriott and together they lived in Sedalia, MO and Basehor, KS. Lois was a member of the Northland Baptist Church in Kansas City, MO. Over the years, Lois was an avid reader, bird watcher and loved to Knit. She had made several afghans, scarves, hats and shawls for her family and friends. Throughout her life she loved her dogs, Lizzy and Molly that she referred to as her, “Fur Babies”.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents and her three siblings: Retha Browne, Arnold Gintz and Ervin Gintz and by one grandson Joseph Cochran.

Survivors include her three children: Margaret Seldomridge and husband Harold of Kansas City, KS., Melinda Everley of Kansas City, MO and Christian Cochran and wife Jacque of Kansas City, MO. Five grandchildren: Clinton Seldomridge, Lindsey Barnett, Ethan Everley, Richard “ Chase” Everley and Elizabeth Cochran. Five great-grandchildren and several extended family and friends.
