Obituary for Lloyd Frank "Chip" Barger

Lloyd Frank “Chip” Barger, 76-year-old Disney resident, passed away on Sunday, September 12, 2021, at his home. He was born on March 18, 1945, in Topeka, Kansas to Lloyd Frank Barger, Sr. and Elizabeth Josephine (Schrader) Barger. Chip graduated Washington High School in Kansas City, KS then he went on to serve his country in the United States Army National Guard. He was a Conductor for Union Pacific Railroad for 40 years retiring in 2005. Chip married Judy (Oglesby) Barger on March 20, 1982, in Langley, Oklahoma. Chip loved racing sprint cars, working on cars, riding motorcycles and watching NASCAR. After living in Bonner Springs, Kansas for many years, retiring on Grand Lake has been one of his greatest enjoyments. He loved entertaining friends on his houseboat, Warpath and relaxing on his beautiful deck overlooking the lake. Chip was a huge fan of the Kansas City Chiefs.
Preceding him in death, his parents, and a son, Brian Dale Barger on September 18, 2010.
The family includes his wife Judy of the home, children, Monica Shonkwiler and husband Scott of Bonner Springs, KS, Nicole Syring of Bonner Springs, KS, Jeffery Barger and wife Becky of Bonner Springs, KS, Travis Barger of Lansing, KS, Leanna Shriner and husband Travis of Tonganoxie, KS, a brother, Terry Barger (Donna White) of Shawnee, KS, thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His family is having a celebration of his life at 2:00pm, Saturday, October 9th, 2021 at Kobi's Bar & Grill, 113 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS., 66012
