“Porge” was born on Aug. 31, 1953 in Kansas City, Kansas and was the youngest of three sons born to Lloyd & Marian (Anderson) Schubert. Porge grew up on his family’s farm attended schools in Basehor. He loved to tinker with anything that needed fixing or made better. Porge had worked as a Scale Operator at Holiday Sand and Gravel, was a 4-H member and a longtime Kansas Farm Bureau Member. Porge had a difficult life, having Polio as a child and hemophilia, but he never complained. He enjoyed visiting with his friends at the Dari Dine and his numerous other stops he had, it is safe to say that Porge “never met a stranger” because he treated everyone like a friend. Porge was raised attending and became a member of the Edwardsville Christian Church and later attended Basehor United Methodist Church. He is preceded in death by his Parents and one brother, Dennis Schubert.
Survivors include his brother Rodney Schubert and wife Jane of Basehor, sister-in-law Vicki Woolsey of Shawnee, KS., Aunt Francis Jeannin of Tonganoxie, KS., one niece Chamlie Lingenfelser and husband Scott, two nephews Kirk Schubert and fiancée Kelly, Troy Schubert and wife MJ all of Basehor, one great-niece Lindsey, three great-nephews Blake, Logan and Kaleb. As well as several extended family members and many, many friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Midwest Hemophilia Association, 8900 State Line Rd., Leawood, KS., 66206 (There will be donation envelopes available at the Vistation & Funeral)

Terri & Dave

We met Porge and his Chili dog at Church. We enjoyed every Sunday with him. After Chili passed away he rescued little Lukey. Porge was such a kind and gentle soul. He was always in great spirits. We have had Lukey for a little over a year now. It was an honor to be asked to take care of Luke when Porge could no longer. We will miss him dearly. Terri, Dave and Luke
