Lisa Suzanne Hayes, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 15 in her Bonner Springs home. Lisa was born in Merriam, Kansas and grew up in Turner, Kansas. She was a graduate of Brown Mackie College and worked primarily as a technology teacher at Bonner Springs Elementary.

Lisa was a natural animal lover who had an unparalleled ability of nursing sick animals back to health, which often resulted in a new member of her family. It brought her tremendous joy. Lisa enjoyed spending time with her family, including her son and grandson, her friends, and her four cats.

She is survived by her husband Pat Hayes, son Brandon Eastland, daughter-in-law Stephanie Eastland, step-son Joe Hayes, grandson Luca Eastland, and many other beloved family and friends. Although she would never tell you her age, she embraced her role as a recent grandmother.

On her bucket list was a family vacation in a Griswold-like car to the Grand Canyon. Her family will ensure that she can finally check it off the list with one last trip. She will be missed endlessly by her family and friends for her unwavering kindness, giving nature, and quick wit.

Lisa’s family will receive friends at the Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm, Wednesday, August 23, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with Lisa’s a Celebration of Life Sharing of Memories Service to follow at 7 pm.

As a survivor of breast cancer, Lisa requests that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
