Obituary for Linda Sue Courtney
Linda Sue Courtney was born January 2, 1948 in Kansas City, Missouri and she arrived in Heaven shortly after noon on Friday, August 19th 2022. There will be a visitation at 6:30pm, and celebration of life at 7pm, both Saturday August 27th, at the Elm Grove Baptist Church in Bonner Springs, Kansas.
Linda was a Wife, Mother, Aunt, Grandmother and Friend. Linda was the oldest of 4 children born to Woodrow Peters and Dorothy Peters.
She was a “Mom” to many over the years, and a friend to so many more, she was a kind, caring, generous soul and had a very giving spirit. Her faith was strong and her family meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by her Mother Dorothy Jewell Peters, Father Woodrow Wilson Peters and Sister Sharon Kaighen.
She is survived by her Husband of almost 53 years Gary Courtney, son Steven Courtney & wife Sheri (Heier), son Jeffry Courtney & wife Jennifer (Decker), Daughter Christine Riley & husband Philip, daughter Elizabeth Cook & husband Jason, Son Andrew Courtney & Samantha, son Christopher Courtney & wife Kaitlin (Woolsey) son Peter Courtney & Kindra (Brooks). She was also blessed with many Grandchildren. Zachary, Katie & Husband Daniel, Ben, Drake, Gaven, Trevor, Alayna, Eric & wife Michaela, Evan, Ethan, Nolan, Emma, Kambel, and Kamryn. Great Grandson Kyle. She is also survived by her Brother Ron Peters and wife Linda & sister Kathy Boyers.
The family extends an invitation to anyone that would like to join us for fellowship and remembrance after the services as we celebrate her life and the legacy that she left.
In lieu of plants or flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church in her memory. Contributions will be used to purchase and plant trees on the property in memory of her!
