Leonard Eugene Bierman, age 78, of Kansas City, KS passed away on July 27, 2018 at his home. Visitation 6-8pm Wed. Aug.1 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home and a Celebration of Life gathering will be from 3-5pm, Thurs. Aug. 2 at Dub’s Dread Clubhouse, 12601 Hollingsworth Rd., KC,KS 66109. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Pittsburg State University Athletic Dept. Atten: Silverback Fund 1701 S. Broadway St. Pittsburg, KS 66762. Leonard was born on Jan. 9, 1940 in Kansas City, KS and was a lifelong area resident. Graduating from Washington High School in 1958 and then attending and graduating with a Bachelors in Accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1962 and was a member of the Phi Sigma Epsilon Fraternity. Leonard has loved golf his entire life playing on his High School and College teams, throughout his adult life and later returning as a High School Golf Coach. He also served as the former President of Victory Hills Country Club in Kansas City, KS. Leonard worked for 34 years for the Internal Revenue Service finishing his Agents career as a Large Case Manager. He had also served as former Piper School Board Member. Leonard was preceded in death by his parents Grace and Len Bierman, one brother Tom Bierman one daughter Syndi Bierman and a nephew Brett Bierman. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Barbara Bierman of the home. A daughter Shari Bierman of Topeka, KS. Two grandsons Kraig Schweinfurth of Kansas City, MO and Kurtis Schweinfurth of Edwardsville, KS. Three great grandsons Rene, Keith and Justin. And one great granddaughter Kaileigh.
