Leona Jean Vicker, 85, of Basehor, KS passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Tuesday, April 23, and Funeral at 11 am, Wednesday, April 24, both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or to the American Cancer Society. Leona was born on July 3, 1933 in Fairmount, KS and was the last of her 10 siblings surviving. She was married to her husband of Alvin F. Vicker for 52 years and loved being a housewife, mother, waitress at many area restaurants, a cook and a cashier at Brewers Country Mart in Bonner Springs for many years. She also enjoyed bird watching, gardening and spending time outdoors. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin in 2010 and one son-in-law Garry Boyer in 2018. She is survived by her five children Nancy Mott and her husband David of Bonner Springs, KS; Gordon Vicker of Bonner Springs, KS; Brenda Boyer of Basehor, KS; Melissa Jean Adcox and her husband Billy of Tonganoxie, KS and David A. Vicker and his wife Amy of Kansas City, KS. 16 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
