Larry Eugene Jones, 73, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at the KU Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 11 AM to 12 noon and the funeral will be at 12 noon, both on Tuesday, February 1, 2022 at the Open Door Baptist Church 3033 N. 103rd Terr. in Kansas City, KS. Burial ill follow in the Leavenworth Veterans Administration National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. Larry was born on September 5, 1948 in Kansas City KS and was a lifelong area resident. He graduated in 1966 from Turner High School and then served in the US Army in Vietnam, on his return he went back to work at the Union Pacific Railroad where he worked for 42 years. Larry was an avid golfer, having even made a hole in one, he also loved to fish, hunt and go bowling with family and friends. He loved his Savior and was a dedicated soul winner. He loved spending time with family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Clara Jones. And is survived by his wife of 22 years, Joyce E Jones, of the home. Five children Brandee Ortiz and her husband Isaac of Belton, MO, Jeannie Young and her husband Anthony of Clearwater, FLA, Ronald Glitten and his wife Leslie of Gower, MO, Brandon Jones of Kansas City MO and Kimberly Jones of Kansas City, MO. One brother Gerald Jones of Fairdale, KY, one sister Mary Sue Linder of Larned, KS. And 13 grandchildren Aliyah, Tearynn, Ashkyia, Adrianna, Lauren, Esther, Benjamin, Ronald Jr., Amanda, Corvina, Isaiah, Josiah and Ariella.
