Obituary for Karen M. Huffman
Karen M. Huffman, age 72, of rural Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Thursday, May 4th, 2023. Visitation will be 5-7 pm Thursday, May 11th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, the Funeral Service will begin at 7pm. Private Committal to follow at a later date in the Lenape Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
Karen was born on November 19, 1950, in Kansas City, Missouri, and was one of three daughters born to Earl & Ruth (Ebker) Hollandsworth. She grew up mostly in Overland Park, Kansas, and graduated from Shawnee Mission South High School in the Class of 1968. Karen married Richard D. Huffman on June 15, 1968, and together they made their home in rural Bonner Springs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Richard Huffman in 2010, and their three children: Michael Dean Huffman in 1988, Sara Ann Huffman in 1990, and Robert Wayne Huffman in 1993.
Survivors include her two sisters: Glenda Brakke and her husband Dave of Mound City, KS. And Brenda Mitchell and her husband Rob of Overland Park, KS., nieces Michelle Rauschenberg and her husband Jeff of Owasso, OK., and Diane Stephenson and her husband Bruce of Merriam, KS., as well as several great-nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
