Obituary for John Richard Didde
John Richard Didde, age 79, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away on Fri. Feb. 27, 2020. Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Tues. Mar. 3, at the St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Parish in Overland Park. Burial will follow at a later date in Olpe, Kansas.
John was born on June 19, 1940 in Emporia, Kansas and was the youngest of 6 children born to Frank & Clara (Strutzel) Didde. He grew up on his family’s farm near Olpe, Kansas and graduated from Olpe High School in the class of 1958. John continued his education at Emporia State University where he received his degree in Business. He married Donna (Rader) Didde and to this union one daughter was born, Sarah Dae Didde. Together they raised their daughter in Lenexa. John retired after a career of working for Kirk Welding Supply that lasted over 40 years. He was raised as a Catholic and most recently was a member of the St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Overland Park. In his retirement he enjoyed restoring John Deere Tractors and working on his classic 1956 Mercury.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his oldest brother Robert F. Didde, sister Rosalie Schetter, brother-in-law Kenneth Scheetz and nephew Mark Didde.
Survivors include his daughter Sarah D. Cope and her husband Kevin of Texas, Three siblings: Marcella Anderson and her husband Howard, Maybelle Scheetz all of Topeka, KS., Arthur Didde and his wife Sally of Burnsville, MN. His significant other Sabrina Rasa, and five grandchildren: Aurora, Alexandria, Atalissa, Sydney & Adessa.
