Obituary for Joe T. Kilburn
Joe T. Kilburn, age 81, of Leavenworth County, Kansas passed away on November 30th, 2023. Rosary Service at 9:00 am, Visitation 9:15 am to 10:30 am, followed by the Memorial Mass Service at 10:30 am, all on Thursday, December 7th, at the Holy Angels Catholic Church in Basehor. Entombment to follow in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas.
Joe was born July 4, 1942, in Harrison, Arkansas and was a graduate of Rosedale High School class of 1960. He started his career at General Motors in 1961 and retired in 1994. But then continued to work as a consultant for several years. He was currently working at the Bass Pro Shop in Olathe, in the fishing and Marine dept. He was a member of the Tri-County Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Olathe Sportsman Club, and fished the Pro Crappie circuit for several years. He loved fishing, camping, anything outdoors, and spending time with his family. He was also active in Country Dancing, Competition Dancing, and was a Dance Instructor for years.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Dale and Juanita Thurman, and one brother James Kilburn.
He leaves behind his sweetheart of 65 years and married for 61 years Judy; daughters Kelly Peeples, Karrie Kilburn, and Kim (Steve) Barnes. Aunt and Uncle Billie Jean and Charles Burris; his brother Don (Rhonda) Thurman. Grandchildren: Steven Ray, Amber, Nick, Ethan, Andrew, Cody, Kayla, Dustin, Steven Michael, Kylie. Great-Grandchildren: Breckin, Kaden, Braxtin, Rayden, Braysin, Arrik, Adelyn, Hadley, Koen, Delilah, Callie and one on the way.
