Joanne Parr of Basehor, Kansas, formerly a long time resident of Edwardsville, Kansas went home to be with the lord on May 24, 2023, at the age of 85. Born on October 28, 1937, Joanne lived a full and vibrant life. She is survived by her children Sherry Bracke of Basehor, Kansas, Cindy and Ernest Kendall of Basehor, Kansas, and Jack Parr of Kansas City, Kansas. Joanne was preceded in death by her husband William Parr in 2021, her parents Elmer Lester Clapper and Marjorie Marie Courtney as well as her brother James Lathrop of Ozark, Missouri. Joanne graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1955, after her graduation she married her husband of 65 years, William Parr of Linwood, Kansas. Joanne will be remembered by her loved ones for her love of sweets, her talent for cooking and her love for animals. She enjoyed fishing with her family and friends. She was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan. Her legacy will live on through her 3 children, 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren and the cherished memories they have of her. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. May her soul rest in peace.
Visitation will be from 4pm to 5pm and Memorial Services will follow at 5pm on Tuesday, June 6, both at Elm Grove Baptist Church with a dinner to follow. Family committal will follow at a later date.
