Jennifer Lynn (Srubas) Crook, age 45, of Piper, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at her home. A Private Memorial Service will be Monday, March 1st, 2021 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Jennifer was born November 10, 1975 in Kansas City, Kansas and was the eldest of two daughters born to Al & Patti (Staatz) Srubas. Jennifer grew up in Basehor and graduated from Basehor-Linwood High School in the Class of 1993. She then attended the University of Arlington Texas to pursue her Major in Opera Singing. Jennifer married Russ Crook on March 24, 2005 and together they made their home in Piper where they have raised their two sons; Clay and Blake. Jennifer had always been a very talented artist and she enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts. She was also a wonderful cook, and loved to prepare amazing meals for her family, especially for “Her Boys”. Anyone that knew Jennifer, knew that she had never met a stranger and that she loved to talk and visit with everyone.
She was preceded in death by her in-laws Chuck & Mary Crook, sister-in-law Debby Hopkins, maternal grandparents Earl & Bobbie Staatz, and paternal grandparents Alphonse & Helen Srubas.
Survivors include her husband Russ Crook and their two sons Clay and Blake of the home, parents Al & Patti Srubas of Bonner Springs, KS., sister Kimberly Srubas of Kansas City, KS., nephew David Hopkins and his fiancée Lyndsi of Kansas City, KS., and two beautiful little nieces Lyla & Nora. As well as several other extended family and friends.
