Jeffery “Jeff” Jay Johnson, age 52, of Edwardsville, KS, died unexpectedly on April 23, 2021, at KU Medical Center. He was surrounded by his loving family as he passed. He was born May 1, 1968 in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Gary Johnson and Peggy (Kraum) Johnson. Jeff graduated from Spring Hill High School, class of 1986. Following graduation, he briefly attended college before marrying and starting a family. Jeff, a devoted husband, married Angela “Angie” Moore in June of 1989. They had two children, Lindsay Lyons, born in 1991, and Jeffrey “JT” Johnson in 1996. Jeff was a hardworking man, spending most of his life as a laborer.
Jeff is survived not only by his wife, Angie, but also two children, Lindsay Lyons and her husband Robert Lyons Jr, and JT Johnson. He has three grandchildren, Veda, Dean, and Adeline. Jeff is also survived by an older sister, Shandi Schierling, and three step-siblings, Kim Miley, Marianne Brown, and Phil Brown. He is survived by his parents, Gary Johnson and his wife Marian and Peggy Schuler and her husband Walter.
Jeff’s Celebration of Life will be held Saturday May 1st, 2021 at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Family Event Center from 2pm – 4pm. Please park in back of the funeral home, as there are events on Oak St during this time.
