Obituary for Jean W. Payne
Jean W. Payne, age 97, of Linwood, Kansas passed away on Tuesday Aug. 11, 2020 at the Hillside Village of DeSoto. Graveside Funeral Service will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15th, at the Glenwood Cemetery, Basehor, KS. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Jean was born on April 10th, 1923 at her family’s home in Chiles, Kansas. She was the only daughter of five children born to Harry & Sophie (Furthmeyer) DeHaven. Jean and her husband Warren owned and operated Warren Payne, Inc. an Over the Road Trucking Company until they retired in 1982. She and Warren enjoyed traveling and were members of the Holiday Ramblers Camping Club. Above all she loved time spent with her family. Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Warren E. Payne in 2002 and by her parents and four brothers. Survivors include her daughter Sharon Keseman and husband Herb of Linwood, KS., son Rick Attebery and wife Nicki of Kansas City, KS., seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
