Obituary for Janet Lynn Scrogham

JANET L. SCROGHAM
Janet Lynn Scrogham, 66, of Kansas City, KS passed away on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at the Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS after a recent illness. Family committal at 1 pm, Saturday, March 6, 2021 in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Janet was born October 24, 1954 in Fort Scott, Kansas and grew up in Kansas City, Kansas
where she graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1972. She was the youngest of three
children born to James Leo and Lorna (Key) Scrogham. Janet worked many years and retired
from KCPL power company as an Executive Administrator.
She will be fondly remembered for her abounding sense of humor and positive attitude,
especially during many of life’s challenges. She loved Pinterest and had a passion for various
craft projects. She enjoyed many hours of fun with her quilting friends, made beautiful quilts and
gave them to family and friends. Her close, devoted circle of friends included several which
were life-long from childhood. They knew all the best restaurants in KC, took trips together, and
enjoyed life. She loved being an Aunt and a Great Aunt. She is loved and will be greatly missed
by all her family and friends.
Janet is survived by her older brother Brad Scrogham, her sister Debbie Jones, her nieces
Stacey and Becky Jones, her nephew Scott Jones and wife Sierra, Great nieces Odessa, Hazel,
great nephew Milo, and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents James Leo and Lorna (Key) Scrogham of
Edwardsville, KS.
