Obituary for Janet Lorraine Ochoa

Janet Lorraine Ochoa, age 66, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on May 13th, 2022 at the St. Luke’s Hospice House. Her family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Visitation from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 19th at the Harrington Family Event Center (218 Oak St. Bonner Springs, KS. 66012) Memorial Contributions can be made to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Janet was born on November 10, 1955 in Kansas City, Kansas and was one of seven children born to Theodore & Joella Duffett. She grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Wyandotte High School in the Class of 1973. Janet had worked for over 30 years at Southwest Steel Fabrication Company in Bonner Springs in their accounting department. Janet was a friend to everyone she met and always made those around her feel loved and welcome. She married Elivorio “Ellie” Ochoa on March 4th, 1977 in Kansas City, Kansas and together they built an incredible life for themselves and their family. Janet was a loving wife, mom and grandma “Gum” and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband Elivorio “Ellie” Ochoa, Jr. of the home, two daughters: Loren Walsh and her husband Adam, Erika Ochoa and husband Riley Walker, four grandchildren: Deacon & Rogan Walsh and Rueben & Mauve Walker.
Siblings: JoAnn Scopel, Ray Duffett, Judy Moran, Tom Duffett, Emma Stamper and John Duffett. As well as other extended family and many friends.
