Obituary for James Earnest "Jim" Snead

Jim Snead, 83, of Shawnee, KS passed away on Fri., July 12, 2019 at his home. Private Family Celebration of his Life to follow on Sat., July 20, 2019. Jim was born on March 24, 1936 in Danville, VA and grew up there until he went in to the U.S. Air Force to serve his country. When he returned he married Patricia Martin in 1956 and they moved to Kansas City, KS where they raised their family. Jim worked at several factory jobs until he started his own business as a Carpenter where he worked for many years until he retired in 1999. He was a member of the Victory Assembly Church in Bonner Springs, KS. Jim loved helping others and most of all spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife of 59 1/2 years Pat Snead in 2014 and one brother Jimmie Snead in 2015. He is survived by his 3 children Dottie Horner and her husband Kevin of Basehor, KS; Jim Snead of Liberty, MO and Sam Snead and his wife Renee of Lenexa, KS. 2 brothers Frank Snead and Jerry Snead both of Danville, VA. 5 grandchildren Ben, Wesley, Andrea, Sienna and Keith. And 9 great grandchildren Melina, Janessa, Cameron, Sophie, Ava, Quinton, Ian, Liliana and Brielle.
