Jack D, Edwards, 76, of Basehor, KS passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019 at his home. Visitation from 10 to 11 am, and Funeral at 11 am, Fri., Aug. 30, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Shriner's Children's Hospital. Jack was born on Dec. 26, 1942 in Mindenmines, MO. The fifth child to Flossie and Erwin Edwards. He married Margaret Hartshorn on June 8, 1963 after moving to the Kansas City area in 1962 to work for General Motors at Fairfax in KC, KS. Retiring in 1993 after working 31 and a half years as a Materials Handler. He loved to travel all over the world. But he especially loved to spend time with his family enjoying his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Flossie (Avery) and Erwin Lee Edwards and three brothers Donald, Leonard and Bob Edwards and an infant sister Vivian. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Margaret Edwards of the home. And two children Jack D. Edwards, Jr. and his wife Donna of Treasure Island, FL and Menda A. Rogers and her husband Bill of Kansas City, KS. One sister Connie Bunney of Erie, KS. Three grandchildren Cassie Fenton-Sayles and her husband Derek; Brandon Rogers and his wife Kiana and Morgan Edwards. Two great grandchildren William and Reveille as well as many nieces and nephews other family and friends that will miss him greatly.
