Irvin “Glenn” Bodam, age 84, of Linwood, KS passed away on the 19th day of April, 2021 in his home. No services are planned.
Glenn was the oldest son of 7 children born to Irvin and Dollie Bodam on October 26th, 1936 in Kansas City, KS. He spent his early life in Wolf Creek, OR working on local farms and in his father’s saw mill. He joined the Air Force in 1954 and served as a reservist until 1962 when he was honorably discharged. He spent many years logging in the Pacific Northwest and goldmining in Nevada, The Yukon, California, and Arizona. He also spent a few years working in Alaska on the pipeline. Glenn rounded out his career as a heavy equipment operator for the IBEW local 53 until retiring in 2003. After retirement, he returned to work with A.F. Van Fleet Excavating in Kansas City, KS as an operator until 2018. Glenn was very hard working, friendly, and encouraging. Everyone who met Glenn walked away with a bit of new knowledge and a smile. Glenn enjoyed traveling with his wife and spending time with his family.
Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Jerry Bodam, his sisters Betty Walker and Charlene Harrison, and his son Curtis Bodam.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Bodam, his children: Susan Bodam, Dan Bodam, Glenida Boot, Kaye Garner, Sandy Loftis, Candy Smith, Randy Buck, Jess Buck and Jonna Harris. 26 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Phillip Bodam, sisters Dixie Gronewold and Cora Lee Hoffman,
Glenn was a blessing to everyone he met and his family will miss him dearly. Until we meet again…
