Obituary for Helen Pearline Robinson

Helen P Robinson, (Nov 8, 1952 - Feb 5, 2023), 70, died peacefully in her sleep, after a long illness with dementia, at her home in Bonner Springs KS. Helen was born to Bryant and Frena Neff of Kansas City Kansas. In April of 1974 she married her husband, Walter "Rob" Robinson at St. John the Evangelist Catholic church. Both previously from Kansas City Kansas they moved to Bonner Springs in 1977.

She spent most of her life in the medical field as a medical assistant, working both front and back office, and as a CPR instructor for the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute. Later in her life she took care of both her mother and husband's grandmother.

Helen was also passionate about the Kansas Hunter's Education program, of which she participated in for over 25 yrs. She was always willing to help others when in need, sometimes dropping everything to come help. She had a witty sense of humor about her especially after serious moments. She was always willing to listen and offer advice sometimes not solicited and told you how it was. She loved animals especially her granddogs. She always allowed animals into the home. Even once bringing home a potbellied pig (ElleMae).

Helen liked to travel, and went on overseas trips with her husband to Bolivia and Egypt, along with trips to Colorado and Arizona. While in Bolivia she taught CPR to the indigenous Aymara nursing students at the Universidad Catolica Boliviana Sao Pablo II in LaPaz.

She is preceded in death by her father Bryant, mother Frena, and brother Donald. She leaves her husband of 48 years Walter of the home, daughter Amy Robinson of Kansas City, Ks and son John of the home, along with nephews, nieces and cousins, and two special un-biological sisters Connie McGee and Dayna Kovacs all who will miss her dearly.

Visitation and Mass will be held at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 5501 Monticello Road, Shawnee KS, starting with visitation at 10:00am, Rosary at 11:00am, with Mass following. Luncheon will be served after the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, husband requests donations made in her name to Monarch Hospice and Palliative Care, 7451 Switzer Rd. STE 100, Shawnee Mission, KS 66203
