Obituary for Helen Rose Benson (Kahle)
Helen Rose (Kahle) Benson, age 90, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Saturday Aug. 3rd, 2019. Visitation will be 9:30-10:30am, followed by the Funeral Mass at 10:30am, both Wednesday Aug. 7th, 2019 at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Shawnee, KS. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Kansas City, KS.
Helen was born on Dec. 25, 1928 in Monticello, KS, she was one of ten children born to John & Anna Kahle. Helen married Bill Benson on Sept. 29, 1953 in Douglas, Wyoming and together they made their home in the Muncie area of Kansas City, KS. Helen was a homemaker and provided in home daycare for over 200 children through the years. She was a longtime member of the Scared Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Bonner Springs and later in Shawnee. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, seven of her siblings; Bill, Clarence, John and Harold Kahle, Elizabeth Kirch, Gladys Moore and Katherine Kahle. She was also preceded in death by her husband William R. Benson, Jr.
Survivors include her four children; Theresa McNeff and husband Dan of Lenexa, KS., Rose Bunce and husband Mike of Kearney, MO., William R. Benson, III “Bill” and wife Brenda of Basehor, KS. and Tina Perez of Kansas City, KS., 11 grandchildren , 14 great-grandchildren and two siblings; Dorothy Shroyer and Fred Kahle both of Edwardsville, KS.
