Obituary

Obituary for Gray B. Von Friedly Sr.

Gray B Von Friedly, Sr. was born January 12th,1921 In Wichita Falls, Texas to Rolf and Leatha Von Friedly, he was one of six children. Gray was named after his fathers favorite poets, Thomas Gray and Robert Burns. He was in the Army during World War II and was posted in London as a medic. Gray married Margaret (Fuhr) Von, Friedly in 1973 and they had Gray Von Friedly, Jr. later in their life. Gray was an amazing artist. He loved to collect salt and pepper shakers, and had over 15,000 in his collection. If you came over to the house, he would give you a tour of the salt and pepper shakers and tell you where he got each one. Gray was loved by everyone, he was very quiet and did not talk much. When someone would ask how he was feeling, he would always answer, "with my fingers".
Gray was preceded in death by his parents Rolf and Leatha, His siblings Ralph VonFriedly, Anna Von Friedly, Alice Corwin, Harry Von Friedly , and his Wife Margaret
He is survived by his Son Gray Von Friedly, Jr and wife Haylee Hammer, one sister Naomi Sexton.
We would like to thank Good Samaritan Society of Olathe, for the exceptional care they gave to Gray in the last 12 years.
