Obituary for Glen Ray Tinder

Glen Ray Tinder, age 76, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Friday, September 10th, 2021. A Celebration of his life will be from 5-8pm Wednesday, Oct. 13th, at the Harrington Family Event Center.
Glen was born on July 25, 1945 in Platte City, Missouri, and was the youngest of six children born to Guy L. & Rosetta (Noland) Tinder. He grew up in Platte City until his family moved to Bonner Springs when he was still in grade school. Glen graduated from Bonner Springs High School in the Class of 1963. He married Beverly Jean (Barnett) on June 5, 1965 in Bonner Springs and this is where they made their home. Glen had worked for Americold in Kansas City, Kansas and retired from there after a 40 year career. Throughout his life, Glen had always been an avid Jayhawk Basketball and Kansas City Chiefs fan. In his retirement he enjoyed working at Stephan’s Amoco where he got to visit with everyone from Bonner Springs. Above all, Glen loved to spend time with his family, especially his kids and grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, all of his siblings: Mary Kay Brooks, Harold Tinder, Junior Tinder, Helen Frey and Doris Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his son Kevin Tinder.
Survivors include his wife Beverly Tinder of the home, Daughter Cheryl Sawyer and her husband Curtis of Lansing, Kansas. Seven grandchildren: Eric, Brianna, Shelby, Cody, Cameron, Bailey and Brady. As well as eleven great-grandchildren, extended family and many, many friends.
