Obituary for George Carlos Lingenfelser

George C. Lingenfelser
George Carlos Lingenfelser, 94, of Tonganoxie, KS passed away on Wed., Nov. 25, 2020 at his home. The family will receive friends at the visitation from 4 to 6 pm, Mon., Nov. 30, at the Alden -Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with a Rosary service at 6 pm. The Funeral Mass will be at 10 am, Tue. Dec. 1st, at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church at 5501 Monticello Rd in Shawnee, KS 66226 with entombment to follow in the Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum in Lenexa, KS with full military honors. George was born on December 30, 1925 in Lawrence, KS and has lived in this area his entire life. He was honored to have served in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army in both WW II and Korea. He was a lifelong member of the catholic church currently as a member of the Tonganoxie Sacred Heart Catholic Church and was very active through the years as a charter member of the Saint Philippine Duchesne Catholic Church and a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus of Olathe, KS. A member of the Tonganoxie V.F.W. Post # 9271 and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 101 for over 30 years and worked for many years at Builders Sand Ready Mix Cement Plant. He had served as a Boy Scoutmaster and also for many years as the Treasurer and a Trustee of the Stranger Township Board. He was renown for being one of the best cooks at the church fish fries around Tonganoxie and Bonner Springs for many years. But most of all he loved spending time with his family and fishing, gardening and flying his own private plane. He is survived by his wife of 73 years Betty of the home and four sons George Lingenfelser of Bonner Springs, KS; Leonard Lingenfelser and his wife Barbara of Coeur D'Alene, ID; James Lingenfelser of Tonganoxie, KS and Mike Lingenfelser of Eldridge, Missouri. One Brother Max Richard Lingenfelser of Lawrence, KS 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
