Obituary for George Raymond "Ray" Boster

Print
George Raymond (Ray) Boster, 82, Basehor KS, passed away on September 29, 2018,
at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. He was born on August 30, 1936 in Huntington, West Virginia to O.D. Boster Sr. and Mary Mathis Boster. Ray was a member of the Elm Grove Baptist Church and thoroughly enjoyed his church family. His strong faith sustained him through 13 major surgeries and his final battle
with cancer this past year. He was often heard saying, " Don't worry, this is a win-win for me. Either I make it and continue to be with my family or I don't and get to join my Lord."
After 32 years, he retired from the Swift Meat Processing Plant (ConAgra), KCKS.
He served in the Navy for 11 years and was a proud member of VFW Post 11499 and
the NRA. His love for hotdogs over a gourmet meal, candy or corny jokes were his trademark.
He had an ear for music. It was amazing to hear him play gospel music on his
harmonica. It was truly beautiful. Ray leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years and best friend, Carol Colleen Sneed. Their love story is an inspiration to all on the meanings of "Tenacity, Love and
Devotion". Ray will be sorely missed by his friends and family whom remain behind:
Sister, Pauline Bowen, Brother O.D. Boster, Jr., Children, Lynn Meehan and
Joseph (Jodi) Chapman, Children of his heart: Randy Bledsoe (Marissa),
Michaelle Entringer (Dan) & Deniese Davis (Russ)
A growing number of grandchildren & great grandchildren; who all knew
Ray/Grandpa Ray loved them!
He was preceded in death by his mother, father, 3 sisters, and his daughter,
Brenda Kay Wachenschwanz.
He was a kind and gentle soul with virtues too numerous to mention.
Services will follow at a later date.
