Obituary for Gennie Marie Rehmer

Gennie Marie Rehmer, age 70, of Kansas City, Kansas and previously of Cole Camp, Missouri passed away on February 19, 2022. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 25th, 2022 at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs, KS. Visitation service at 10:00 am with funeral to follow at 11:00 am. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Monarch Watch for Monarch Butterfly’s.
Gennie was born on January 20, 1952 in Kansas City, Kansas to Aurther "Genie" Roberts & Rosemary (Mozakis) Blasche. She was raised by her adoptive parents Earl “Mac” & Evelyn (Roberts) Wright in the Warsaw, Missouri area on their Dairy Farm. Gennie attended Warsaw High school. She married Ralph Rehmer on November 20, 1969 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, MO. Together they made their home on a farm near Cole Camp where they raised their two children. Gennie worked as a Veterinarian Technician on her family’s farm and other nearby farms in her early years. She then worked as a Cosmetologist/Barber for the last 40 years in Cole Camp and Kansas City, KS. She loved the outdoors. She was an avid morel mushroom hunter and lover of all God’s creatures, especially butterflies and horses. Gennie had a magnetic personality and never knew a stranger. She was known for her distinctively beautiful fingernails and hair.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Orville Roberts.
Survivors include her two children: Francis “Frankie” Rehmer and his wife Jennifer of Cole Camp, MO., Renee Huhn and her husband Richard of Kansas City, KS. Five grandsons: Brandon Huhn, Mitchell Simmons, Edwyn Rehmer, Owen Rehmer and Bradyn Rehmer. Brothers: William Roberts, James Wright and Eddie Blasche. As well as many extended family members and friends.
