FRED H. OEST
Frederick Herman Oest, Jr., 80, of Bonner Springs, KS died on Tue., Sept. 11, 2018 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. Visitation from 9 to 11 am, and Funeral at 11 am, both Wed., Sept. 19, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to assist with the funeral expenses. Fred was born on March 11, 1938 in Jersey City, NJ and moved to this area 43 years ago. Fred was a proud U.S. Marine Corp Veteran. He had previously worked at numerous jobs through the years such as driving a school bus and as a hotel manager and later when he moved to this area as a mechanic specializing in small engine repair at West Lake and Coast to Coast Hardware Stores. He was very artistic enjoying sculpting, painting and making all kinds of art peices. He really enjoyed enjoyed hunting thru out the years. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years Janet Oest in 2015, one daughter Vahlea Oest in 2010, one grandson Dalton Lutrell in 2003 and one brother Ronald Oest in 2010. And he is survived by four daughters Donna Oest of the home, Dawn Calderwood and her husband Ernie of Baldwin, KS; Robin Steinbacher of Bonner Springs, KS and Diana Oest of Bonner Springs, KS. Ten grandchildren Courtney, Jesse, Elizabeth, Corporal Anthony, Ryan, Steven, Kristina, Jada, Nicholas and Marissa. And four great grandchildren Ethan, Gaege, Peyton and Caroline.
