Obituary for Forest Dale Sower
Forest Dale Sower, age 90, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Thursday, September 1st, 2022 at Delmar Gardens of Lenexa. Visitation will be 12:30pm to 1:30pm on Thursday, Sept. 8th, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Graveside Funeral Service will follow at 2:00pm at the Edwardsville Cemetery.
Forest was born on Sept. 19, 1931 in Kansas City, Kansas and was a lifelong area resident. He worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a Carman for 36 years, retiring in 1991. He also drove a School Bus part-time for the Turner School District for 18 years. Forest was a member of the Moose Lodge in Kansas City, KS where he enjoyed helping make peanut-brittle. Later in life he loved watching old westerns on TV. Forest was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Marian Sower in 2005 and one son Martin Sower in 2010. Survivors include his daughter Beth Honn of Olathe, KS and son Mark Sower of Kansas City, KS. One granddaughter Tracy Vick of Excelsior Springs, MO., two great-grandchildren Brande and Jacob and one great-great-grandson Kayden.
