Obituary for Eugene Lynn
Eyra Eugene Lynn, age 77, of De Soto, Kansas passed away on Thursday, January 10th, 2019. Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday Jan. 15th, Funeral 10:30am Wednesday, Jan 16th both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Old Monticello Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Monticello Cemetery Association, those can be dropped off at the visitation and service.
Eugene was born on Nov. 12th, 1941 in Monticello, KS. and was the eldest of four sons born to Ira & Mildred (Newell) Lynn. He grew up in the Monticello area and graduated from the Bonner Springs High School in the class of 1959. Eugene proudly served in the U.S. Army. He married Donna Goethal on Dec. 10th, 1966 in Shawnee, KS., and together they made their home and raised their sons in the De Soto area. Eugene retired from Kansas Gas Service after a 34 year career.
He was preceded in death by; his parents, one son Thomas Edwin Lynn and one brother Robert Matthew Lynn.
Survivors include; his wife Donna Lynn of the home, three sons; Steve Lynn (Melisa) of De Soto, KS., James Lynn (Becky) of Uehling, NE., and Tim Lynn (Stacie) of Parkville, MO., five grandchildren; Matthew, Michael, Luke, Emma and Lexi, two brothers; Elvin Lynn (Linda) of Tonganoxie, KS. and Harold Lynn (Brenda) of Kansas City, KS., sister-in-law Pat Lynn of Nixa, MO., as well as several extended family and friends.
