Obituary for Elva Sosa Davis Musick
Elva Sosa Davis Musick, age 72, of Leavenworth, Kansas passed away on Friday, July 3, 2020. Visitation will be 9-10am and Funeral at 10:00 am, both Thursday, July 9th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
Elva Sosa Davis-Musick was born on January 1, 1948 in Harlingen, Texas to Rafael & Genoveva Sosa. She was one of twenty-five children with one half-brother and one half-sister. She married the late Esteban A, Davis in 1968, and was married to him until his death. She married Roy F. Musick in 1987. Elva graduated as an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1990 and worked in different specialties during her 20 years of service. Specialties included Geriatric Care, Psychiatric Care, Pediatric Home Health, Emergency Department, Post Surgical care at Munson Army Medical Center, and the Wyandotte Health Department. She retired from nursing in 2010.
Elva enjoyed dancing, sewing, gardening, antiquing, auctions, and spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren,
She was proceeded in death by her parents Rafael & Genoveva, her late husband Esteban A. Davis, her brothers Guadalupe Sosa, Francisco Sosa, Rafael Sosa, and her sisters Esperanza Hernandez and Maria Luisa Freire.
Survivors include her husband Roy F. Musick, her four children Margarita (David) Martin, Altagracia (Brian) Swanson, Esteban (Jennifer) Davis Jr., Rafael (Kendra) Sosa Davis. Twelve grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. As well as brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in mothers honor. As Elva was a proud dependent of Roy, a 41 yr military veteran, and a mother to sons and grandchildren whom also served.
Due to state regulations face masks are to be worn at all times upon entering the Funeral Home. Masks will not be provided. Additional social distancing guidelines will be in place and made known upon arrival.
