Obituary for Edward Verl "Ed" Hollister

Edward Verl Hollister, age 62, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, August 7th, 2018 at his home. Visitation was held 6-7pm with the Funeral beginning at 7pm, both Friday, August 10th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Graveside Committal was 11am, Saturday, August 11th at the Strong Township Cemetery in Strong City, Kansas.
Ed was born on March 1st, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas. He started working full time at 15 years of age. His jobs included a Fry Cook at Earls Café, Chef for General Motors, Janitorial Service for various cleaning companies, a materials and pressman for Tabco Printing Company and a Custodian for Calvary Lutheran School and Church, from which he retired in 2008. After retiring, he spent his time working in his yard, and “Junking” with his dad one day a week. Ed loved to cook and feed people and to him family was everything. He loved babysitting his baby granddaughter Ada. He married Betty (Lawrence) Hollister on July 12, 1980 in Kansas City, Kansas.
He was preceded in death by; Penny Hollister, Grandparents; Oliver & Helen Hollister and Dewey & Mildred Burtlow.
Survivors include his wife Betty Hollister of the home, two daughters; Heather Gilges (Jason) and Amy Vandeloo (Asa), three grandchildren; Ashley and Trentyn Gilges and Ada Vandeloo, father Wayne Hollister, and two older siblings; Helen Dixon and Lloyd Hollister, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
