Obituary for Dorothy Zella Crawford

Dorothy Zella Crawford, age 95, of Bonner Springs, Kansas went home to meet Jesus on Monday, August 16, 2021. Her family will be planning a celebration of her life at a later date. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
Zella was born on February 9, 1926 in Gamaliel, Arkansas and was one of seven children born to Frank & Dora “Bun” (Choate) Grayham. She grew up near Gamaliel and graduated from High School in nearby Bakersfield, Missouri. Zella married Charles Henry Crawford, Sr. on June 24, 1946 in Salem, Arkansas. In 1951 they moved to Kansas City, Kansas where they made their home and raised their children. In the early 1980’s they moved to their farm in rural Bonner Springs. Zella enjoyed to “piddle around” on the farm.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, her Husband, three brothers: George, Billy and Marion Grayham, one Sister Nadine Smith, one Son Charlie Crawford, Jr., one Grandson Tom Crawford, and one Son-in-law Tim Pendley.
Survivors include: Son Alan Crawford and his wife Judy of Leavenworth, KS., Daughter Janice Pendley of Topeka, KS., Daughter-in-law Vickie Crawford of Benton, AR., Siblings: Francis Graham and his wife Norma of Florida, Margie Deatherage of WA., 15 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great-grandchildren. As well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
