Obituary for Doris Jean "Jean" Sloan (Hodges)

DORIS JEAN SLOAN
Doris Jean Sloan, 82, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away Tue., Nov. 19, 2019 at her home. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm, Fri., Nov. 22 and Funeral 10 am, Sat., Nov. 23, both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Jean was born on May 12, 1937 in Louisville, KY. She raised her family in the Bonner Springs area and worked for many years at the U.S. Post Office in Bonner Springs. She loved to make quilts for family and friends and had sent many quilts to "Quilts of Love" to soldiers overseas. She is survived by her husband of 66 years Herman Sloan of the home and five children Jerry Sloan and his wife Peggy of St. Joseph, MO; Carol Millsap and her husband Bill of Edwardsville, KS; Linda Kilgore of Olathe, KS; Anita Stafford and her husband Ray of Lansing, KS and David Sloan of Tonganoxie, KS. Three brothers Jerry Herbert and Kenny Herbert both of Ohio and Jim Herbert of Louisiana. Two sisters; Janice Britt of Ohio and Carolyn Cregan of Florida. 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.

I am so sorry for your loss. My prayers and love come to the Sloan family. I spent a great deal of time in this wonderful ladies home. Herman and Jean always made me feel a part of the family.
