Donna Ova
Donna Lou (Hornung) Ova, age 84, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, February 09, 2021. Visitation will be 1-2pm, Funeral at 2pm, both Monday, Feb. 15th, 2021 both at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Elm Grove Cemetery. (Due to Covid-19 restrictions, facemasks and social distancing are required)
Donna was born on January 11, 1937 at her family’s home in Woodworth, North Dakota to Joe & Esther (Gaub) Hornung. She and her family moved to Kansas City, Kansas when she was 15 years old. Donna had worked at Kay’s Fashion in the Indian Springs Mall before she took a job as a secretary with the Boilermakers Union Headquarters in Kansas City, KS where she worked for many years. She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in Kansas City, KS. Over the years, donna loved to travel and had been to Australia, The Holy Lands, and several different Cruises including Hawaii.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Glen Hornung, her first husband Don Ova in 2019 and by her daughter-in-law Jeanne Ova in 2020.
Survivors include her two sons: Wayne Ova and wife Deborah) of Osawatomie, KS., Rick Ova of Bonner Springs, KS., three sisters: Joanne Heib, Joyce Green, Sharron Unger, one brother Jimmy Hornung, six grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one on the way.
