Donald Ross Black, 80, of Kansas City, KS passed away on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at his home. Friends may call at the Visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 am, Wed., Sept. 8 and the Funeral will be at 11 am, also on Wed., Sept. 8, both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 8616 Haskell Ave. in Kansas City, KS 66109. Donald was born on April 8, 1941 in Worthington, MN, he was the son of a Bee Keeper and was raised primarily in Texas. Early in his life he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in England. He later married Sharon Jean Smith and had three children David Black, Sara Black-Brown and Elisa Black. He received his Bachelors and Master's degrees from Brigham Young University and his Doctorate from the University of Texas. He taught Speech and World Religion at Kansas City Kansas Community College for over 30 years retiring in August of 2021. Donald is survived by his three children David Black and his wife Amy Kathleen of Pleasant Grove, Utah; Sara Brown and her husband Danny of Tallahassee, FL and Elisa Black also of Pleasant Grove, Utah. One Sister Jean Seegmiller of San Antonio, TX and One grandson Elliott Brown.
