Obituary for Diane Ruth Toland

Diane Ruth Toland, 83, of Edwardsville, KS passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at Hillside Village of De Soto. Graveside Funeral Services will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at the Edwardsville Cemetery in Edwardsville, KS.
Diane was born March 18, 1940 in Kansas City, MO and was a lifelong Edwardsville area resident, graduating from Bonner Springs High school in 1958, then graduating from Emporia Teachers College in 1962. She later received her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology in the mid 1990's from Webster University. Diane taught elementary school for many years in Topeka, Kansas City, Kansas and Edwardsville, education was her passion, and when she was not teaching, she was volunteering at the schools. Diane served on the Bonner Springs - Edwardsville USD 204 School Board for several years where she also served as its president. She was a charter member of the Edwardsville Recreation Board, a past member of the Edwardsville Cemetery Board and a longtime member of Edwardsville Christian Church, more recently a member of the New Hope Christian Fellowship.
Diane is preceded in death by her husband James Toland in 2001 and her parents, Ruth and Lloyd Forester Sr. She is survived by her three children Sandra Toland, Timothy Toland (Shawnda), and David Toland; seven grandchildren, Caitlyn (Butch), Kyle, Miranda, Laird, Joseph, Charlotte and Betsy; two great grandchildren Aileana and Aria; one brother Lloyd Forester, Jr. (Sandi), and one sister Alice Wood (Eddie).
