Delia Mae Maier, 83, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away Thursday, Nov. 25, 2021 at the Bonner Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation. Visitation will be from 11 am to 12 Noon and the Funeral will be at 12 Noon both on Tuesday, Nov. 30th, at the Alden - Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Association in care of the funeral home. Delia was born on March 19, 1938 in Overbrook, KS and grew up in Kansas City, KS graduating from Washington High School in 1956. She married the love of her life Norman Maier on June 7, 1957. Together they lived in Kansas City moving to Bonner Springs in 1978. She loved being a housewife and a stay at home Mom raising her family. She loved celebrating the holidays and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She liked to plant all kinds of flowers, spend time doing embroidery teaching others how to do ceramics. But she is well known for her great pie baking ability. Delia is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years Norman Maier in August of 2021 and one sister Cleona Helms in 2016. And is survived by her three children Gary Maier and his wife Tracey Maier on Bonner Springs, KS; Barbara Maier of Kansas City, KS and Kenneth Maier of Bonner Springs, KS. Two sisters Joanne Savner of Basehor, KS and Nancy Williams of Kansas City, KS. One brother Frank Norton also of Kansas City, KS. Four grandchildren Kacey, Fred, Rachael and Zachary. And five great grandchildren Rylan, Oliver, Daemien, Briar and Kingston.
