David M. Heide, age 57, of Tonganoxie, KS and previously of Lee’s Summit, MO suddenly went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, August 21st. , 2018. Visitation was held 3-5pm with the Funeral beginning at 5pm, both Wednesday Aug. 29th, at the CenterPointe Community Church (401 N. 78th St. KC, KS.) Memorials can be made to CenterPointe Community Church to help send children to camp.
David was born on September 23rd, 1960 in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He grew up in Lee’s Summit and graduated from Lee’s Summit High School in 1978. David entered the U.S. Army at age 17, right after high school. While in the service he was in the, Battery B 1st Battalion (C/V), 55th Air Defense Artillery based in Fort Bliss, Texas and served in Korea. In November '79, He was PFC D. M. Heide, III rank. In 1982 he attained the rank of SP5 at Ft. Lewis, Washington in the Battery B, 1st Battalion, 67th ADA, with very high recommendations to work as a Vulcan System mechanic as a civilian contractor. David then spent two years as a civilian contractor in Saudi Arabia working on the Vulcan System.
After the service he worked as a Roofer in the Kansas City area, most recently working as a Purchasing Manager for Delta Innovative Services Roofing Company in Kansas City, KS. David loved his rural living, learning to farm from his wife, playing board games, but most of all he enjoyed time spent with family and especially his grandchildren.
David was preceded in death by his Mother Odessa Lou (Marsh) and Father Joseph Heide.
Survivors include his wife, Rinda (Cooper) Heide of the home, daughter; Chare’ Heide and step-son; Dale Stolte, Six grandchildren; Caden, Carter, Luke, Mila, Mateo and Joshua. Four siblings; Wetta Simms, Doug Heide, James Howell, Jr. and Tracy Ramirez.
