Obituary for David Lee "Dave" Campbell
David “Dave” Lee Campbell, age 64 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away on Thursday, July 27th, 2023 while surrounded by his loving family. A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, August 4th at Noon at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with a gathering directly after the service at the Harrington Family Event Center, next to the funeral home.
Dave was born on June 25, 1959 in Nevada, Missouri and was the youngest of two sons born to Dolores “Dee” Campbell. He grew up in the Monticello/Western Shawnee area and graduated from DeSoto High School. Eventually Dave married his best friend Audrey Whitmill and together they made their home in Kansas City, KS. He worked at Johnson County WaterOne for 30 years before retiring in 2021. Dave was an animal lover that loved riding motorcycles, going to the boats, spending time with his family, and doing whatever Audrey asked him to. Dave also enjoyed barbecuing and will forever be known for his amazing BBQ ribs.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Ruth & Darrel Whitmill.
Survivors include his wife Audrey Campbell of the home. His children: Sunni, Jessica, Michelle, Jerid, Dallan, and Jacob. His mother Dolores “Dee” Campbell, brother Virgil Campbell and sister-in-law Debbie and 14 grandchildren.
