Danny Maxwell
Danny Joe “DJ” Maxwell, age 65, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Thursday, September 9th, 2021 from complications of Covid-19. Visitation will be 10-Noon with the Funeral at Noon, both Wednesday, Sept. 15th at the Elm Grove Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery.

Danny was born on July 3, 1956 in Kansas City, Kansas and was one of 12 children born to Pete “Tennessee” & Josephine (Garrett) Maxwell. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and was known as a hard worker even at a young age. At 14 he started Trimming Trees, and Cleaning Bathrooms. Danny then started working in Concrete Construction and eventually started his own company, DJ’s Foundation and Flatwork that he grew to a very successful company. He was always known to be a family man that worked hard and played hard. Danny loved his Classic Cars and to travel to such places and Australia, Mexico, Italy. Traveling to him was more about exploring new places.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his son Daniel Joe “Lil’ Dan” Maxwell.

Survivors include his son Cody Maxwell. Eleven siblings: Roy “Paul” Maxwell of Eureka Springs, AR., Benton Maxwell of Kansas City, KS., Linda Bulman (Jim) of Bonner Springs, KS., Brenda Moulin (Rick) of Holton, KS., Peggy Eisman of Tecumseh, KS., Roger Maxwell (Rosie), Carl Maxwell both of Kansas City, KS., Debby Lucas (Bill) of Bonner Springs, KS., Dorothy Kavanaugh (John) of Winter, WI., John Maxwell of Kansas City, KS., Pete “Junior” Maxwell (Judy) of McLouth, KS., his fiancée Susan Jacobs of Tonganoxie, KS. As well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and many, many friends.
