Margaret Corinne McCowan, age 93, of Basehor, KS., passed away peacefully in her sleep on Saturday, Feb. 6th, 2021. Visitation will be 1-2pm, Funeral Service 2pm, both Friday, Feb. 19th, 2021 at the Auburn Presbyterian Church (Due to Covid-19 restrictions, facemasks and social distancing are required) with burial following in the Auburn Cemetery in Auburn, Kansas. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Auburn Presbyterian Church in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.

Margaret Corinne (Cellers) was born on February 4th, 1928 in Auburn, Kansas. She was the youngest of four daughters born to Varnum & Ina (Moore) Cellers. Corinne graduated from Auburn High School in the Class of 1946. As a child she was very talented in music, learning how to play the Bass Cello, Piano and Organ. Corinne was a lifelong member of the Auburn Presbyterian Church where she shared her musical gift by playing the Piano and Organ. She had worked for many years for the U.S. Department of Labor. Corinne was an avid sports fan and especially a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, KC Royals and KC Chiefs.

Corinne was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Albert T. Bayless, Jr., her three sisters: Irene Brobst, Eloise Pringle and Lucile Cellers and by her second husband C. Lloyd McCowan.

Survivors include her seven children: Varnum Bayless and wife Eva, Valerie Sutton and husband Rodger, Roger McCowan, Ronan Harmon and husband Bill, Velma James and husband Jim, Vivian Baars and husband Charles, Vonna Arnold and husband Ernie, 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, as well as several extended family and friends.
