Obituary for Carolyn Ruth Zimmerli
Carolyn Ruth Zimmerli, 76, of Meriden, KS formerly of Linwood, KS passed away Sunday, Jan. 14, 2024 at the Diversicare Nursing Home in Haysville, KS. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 am and Funeral Services will be at 11 am, both on Monday, Jan. 22, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs, KS with burial to follow in Mt. Sidney Cemetery in Linwood, KS.
Carolyn was born March 4, 1947 in Kansas City, KS to her parents Albia and Mary DeMaranville. She grew up in Bonner Springs and there met and married the love of her life Karl Zimmerli, 57 years ago. Together they raised their family in Linwood, KS. Carolyn enjoyed taking care of children and spending time with her grandchildren. She loved sewing and making quilts. She was very artistic and loved to cook large meals for her family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and by brothers Albie Jr., Dinnie, Donald & Charles. She is survived by her husband Karl Zimmerli of the home, two children Leanna Kneebone (James) of Tonganoxie, KS and Louis Zimmerli (Lisa) of Whitehall, MT. One brother Bob DeMaranville of Mound City, KS and three sisters Betty Honeywell Prairie Village, KS; Maxine Johnson of Linwood, KS; and Nadine McNay of Kirksville, MO. And three grandchildren Nicole, Jimmy and Destiny.
