Obituary for Carolyn Oelschlaeger (Hiett)

Carolyn Oelschlaeger, age 84, of Linwood, Kansas passed away on Saturday, September 22nd, 2018 at the Tonganoxie Nursing Center. Visitation will be 6 to 8pm Thursday evening at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Funeral will be 11am Friday also at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or Ratbone (terrier) Rescues and mailed to the funeral home.
Carolyn was born on Sept. 27, 1933 in Kansas City, KS., and was the youngest of two children born to Burnie & Freda (Spaethe) Hiett. She grew up in Bonner Springs and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in the class of 1952. Carolyn married Leo D. Oelschlaeger on March 3, 1957 at the Bonner Springs First Christian Church. She and Leo were longtime residents of rural Linwood where they had their farm. Carolyn was a lifetime member of the Bonner Springs First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother; Burnie Hiett, Jr., and her husband Leo D. Oelschlaeger.
Survivors include; one son David (Debbie) of Linwood, KS., and one daughter Martha Oelschlaeger of Lawrence, KS. and one grandson Ryan Oelschlaeger, inlaws; Annetta Parsons, Richard Oelschlaeger, Betty Hiett and several other extended family and friends.
