Obituary for Brian L. Hahn
Brian L. Hahn, age 51, of Linwood, Kansas went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 21st, 2022 at his home while surrounded by his loving family and friends after a courageous four year battle with Kidney Cancer. Visitation will be 6-8pm Monday, July 25th and the Funeral will be 10am Tuesday, July 26th both at the Elm Grove Baptist Church (15774 Linwood Rd, Bonner Springs, KS 66012) Burial will follow in the Mt. Sidney Cemetery near Linwood. After the burial the family will be hosting a BBQ lunch at the Linwood Community Center.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney Cancer Association or donations to replace the giant Oak Trees lost in the tornado to plant in memory of Brian. He really missed that part of our landscape on the northside of our property.
Brian was born on February 23, 1971 in Alexandria, Virginia and was one of four children born to Bill & Marlene (White) Hahn. He grew up in Kansas City, Kansas and graduated from Washington High School in the Class of 1989. Being very athletic, Brian went on to Kansas City Kansas Community College on a Soccer Scholarship. He married Christine “Chris” (Leach) on May 15,1999, and together they made their home near Linwood, overlooking the dairy farm. Brian was an avid outdoorsman and loved living in the country, hunting, fishing, especially Pheasant hunting. He took pride in his garden and blackberry patch. All knew thru Facebook of the great tomato wars that entertained everyone. Brian has worked his entire career (over 30 years) at FedEx in Lenexa, KS. Above all Brian loved to spend time with his family and friends watching football, basketball, and baseball. During his illness, Brian and Chris lost their home to the 2019 Tornado, after that he focused on rebuilding the home as soon as possible and knew he was leaving his family with a new home, not in need of repair. This home includes a wrap around porch which Brian spent more than half his time each day especially during the last few months. Sitting there enjoying god's beauty.
Survivors include his wife Chris Hahn and their children Jake and Anna, all of the home. Parents Bill Hahn of Kansas City, KS., and Marlene Hahn of Overland Park, KS., three siblings: Joann Judd of Bonner Springs, KS., Cody Hahn and wife Lorena of Olathe, KS., Joel Hahn and wife Karla of Belton, MO., mother-in-law Lana Leach and brother-in-law Rob Leach and his wife Lisa all of Linwood.
